For Kevin's weird shirt:

I'm pretty sure that its not washable due to the delicate nature of the weaving or sharpie marker, but he said that he liked it all the same. 

Jessica's Birthday rolled around so I rolled out some excellent gifts!

Hand embroidered Mexican folk art shoes, done with thread and yarn

They took about 12 hours to make, but it was worth it.

I also made her a necklace from amethyst beads and a Tibetan-looking piece:

Collaboration: making a huge puppet animal that we paraded around downtown.

We shook pans and a jar of almonds while we stepped our way around a park on Jackson.

I am the middle segment.

So to make these I laid on the floor, traced myself, and then redrew the shapes.

I also made sure that my body fit inside of a certain box for the first piece, so it's about being trapped.

The 2nd piece is a bit more free.

These are comprised of organza, embroidery floss, and old frames from the thrift store.

Andrew brought it to my attention that these are very sexual, and he's right I guess, but it wasn't my intention.

Tonight was Art Bash, which is a show for first year students at my school.

My Firewood & Fibers piece got in, and the gang and I went.

Look, there it is! 

Also, some lovliness from the evening.

then there was the SUGS playground of paper and weaving!

then we went to a show featuring my friend...

Her work was really great, so cohesive and just wonderful- wow.

Then a great blue grassy hipster band played, and we stomped and danced 'round.

So much nice art tonight- it's so fun to be a part of this community.

LVL3 tomorrow and lots of felt-making and paper writing and general art-ing to do.

Jessica grabs them out of the bag and says, "I'm wearing these TOMORROW!"

 Today I had to return a dress at Forever 21 and was browsing around through the 

horrible-quality knit tops that are too long and short elastic skirts 

and shoes who's heels are unrealistically high when I found THESE!

I'm going to wear them to my interview, how could they not love and remember

the girl with the glitter oxfords?!?!

They're going to look great with my deconstruction redone blazer and

embroidered polo and kakis, all of which have yet to be actually made but I'm getting there. 

and while I was googling a picture for this, I found out that there are Louboutons that these were designed off of! And the Louboutons cost $600! Mine were $20. And I had a gift card.

Jeez, I just have to add a ribbon for the laces and I'll look authentico.

Oh we made colored eggs too, the fancy tie dye glitter ones.

"Okay, it's Easter. Everyone- go around the table and say one thing that comes back to life. Cheese... It melts, but actually tastes better when it's melted. Lizards tails re-grow. When you die reading German, you know more German."

David said the last part and I have no idea what that means.

But today we had a mini Easter party and made pizza and cake and eggs during the thunder storm.
For Dinner we had 
Smoked Gouda, spinach, cherry tomato, kalamata olive, garlic, and sliced potato pizza

with a desert strawberry and plain cream cheese pizza, with pineapple, nectarine, and mango honey 

anddd a yellow strawberry almond three layer cream cheese frosting cake!

This is totally a legitimate thing to blog about because I made these things, like art?

Jessica was eating it with a fork from the other side, and carved out a huge cavern from the middle. 

So bad!
